Today I encounter the works of Oliana Lialina, in particular her work from 2013 Summer: A gif file wich every frame is hosted by a diferent person. Watching it was something unique, it reminded me how many things can only live not just in a digital form inside a computer but only on the internet, trough the conectivity of all of us (it also made me think on how something like this would be just imposibile inside the sterile walls of Facebook, Google or any of the giants that lives inside today's internet)
Oliana also runs the Tumblr page One Terabyte of Kilobyte Age who post 1 snapshot every 20 minutes from the 1TB archive from Geocities (I hope one day I can find my own old Geocities page that was lost in time!)
I recomend everyone to check out her Website!
P.S.: Inspired by her work I also became an animated gif:
Myspace whoring in 2021
Hello everyone, I had sin and I need to confess.
The other day while working on my music a bug in my head started to scratch my brain whispering to my ear "NO ONE IS GOING TO LISTEN TO THIS" it said and after trying to ignore it I finally surrended to it.
I know all social media is bullshit, I know that it's just a machine designed to crawl into your mind and force you to spend countless hours in front of your phone pouring oceans of meaningless information straight into your mind. I know this, I'm aware of it, but... maybe, I said to myself, maybe if I just use it as a promotion tool for my music, maybe then I can take advantage of it and get something out of it. Well let me tell you, that was a big mistake.
I went back to my instagram account and tried to browse a little and post again and after using mainly this site the rigidness and sterile design of it was a depressing reminder of what internet has become.
I realised that that voice that brought me back to that wasteland is the worm that grew into my head thanks to years of exposure to facebook, youtube, twitter, and all those sites and make me expect that the whole world should be there to read or listen to the stuff I dump into the internet. This it isn't and was never the reality. I will just put my stuff out there and it will be avialabe for whoever stumble with it.
But well, in a brighter side I'm making a music video using mostly rotoscope animation. Doing it it's really time consuming but I think it's looking really really good. I hope I can finish it by the end of the month and finally release a new song!
After seeing how more and more people got COVID at my work it finally was my turn. Luckly my simptoms weren't too severe but they were bad enough to keep me in bed for a week and a half. How did I spent that time? Someone can ask; well, like any normal person would: trying out linux on my laptop and staying awake during the night configuring dwm
I'm still really new to all this so probably there were many things I shouldn't done during the instalation and the fact that I'm using Linux Mint might make vomit the most purist of all this stuff but well, I need to start somewhere, right?.
In the end, this was a fun project to try and I really enjoy moving around trough the windows on dwm. The next thing I wanna do is starting to learn how to properly use bash so I can make a coupple of scripts for this webpage so I don't have to make everything by hand (currently I'm writing everything manually even the RSS feed).
It brought me kinda back in time when I was in elementary school and they teach us how to use LOGO Writer and then when I was 11 years old and my father brought me a bunch of PC magazines that talked about stuff like Obfuscated C Code and Conway's Game of Life.
If you are somewhat interested in computers and how they work you should watch this.

DEATH TO SPOTIFY, get good old mp3s
There is no point for Spotify or any of those streaming platforms. If you want to listen to my music you don't need that crap anymore, just go to MUSIC and download the mp3 files.
If you got them, first of all thank you! I hope you enjoyed it. Now those files are yours, do with them whatever you want.

First Blog entry! - Returning to the old ways
Tired of the limitations and demands of social networks, I decided to create my own website and thus have a space where I can show my music in the best possible way.
Welcome to my little corner of the web.
